Coffee Unplugged is one of the select few coffee roasters in South Africa who are fully accredited under the requirements of the ECOCERT ORGANIC STANDARD.

We have a state-of-the-art coffee roaster totally dedicated to the roasting of organic green beans. This guarantees that our organic beans do not come into contact with anything non-organic, and ensures the end user that the coffee being consumed is organically pure.

The organic coffee beans we use are produced with minimal negative impact on the earth and the environment. Our beans are sourced from certified organic farms. Organic farms emit less carbon than other farms, thereby contributing to the battle against climate change. No synthetic fertilizers or chemicals are used in either growing or production, resulting in cleaner air, cleaner land, cleaner water and cleaner beans. As a result the bean is richer in healthy antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Your well-being, and the health of the earth, both benefit from organic coffee beans. By purchasing certified organic coffee, you know you are supporting coffee growers and their communities. And you are doing your part to support this precious earth that we all share.

The final and perhaps the most important benefit, is taste. There is little doubt that because of all of the above factors, the depth of flavour of Coffee Unplugged organic beans is distinctly superior. Why not try it for yourself?

In the early 1900’s, two brothers set out to start growing coffee in the highlands of Comayagua, Honduras.

After five generations, the Rodriguez brother’s family tradition lives on through the 19 descendants who continue producing coffee. Each member of the family owns and operates their own coffee farm.

The Ventura family started cultivating coffee in the mountains of San Marcos, Ocotepeque approximately sixty years ago. Don Israel Ventura was one of the first coffee producers in the area. He motivated members of the community to start producing coffee and helped producers commercialise their coffee. In 2000, Don Israel's oldest son, Lurvin Ventura, established a dry mill and processing plant where both the Rodriguez and Ventura families process and export their coffees. This joint venture has created the opportunity to provide diverse coffee offerings to satisfy a larger customer demand while also fulfilling the vision to create a consistent blend that distinguishes the flavour profile of each region.
